Your local Treeby reticulation team

Whether it's an older system that's started playing up or a new landscape that needs waterwise coverage from day one, we handle the lot — repairs, servicing, controllers, bores and full installations.

Verge planting and reticulation rules sit with the City of Cockburn, while watering days come from the Water Corporation sprinkler roster, not the council — worth checking both before any verge retic work. Treeby is roughly 3 km from our Jandakot depot — same-week bookings are the norm, not the exception.

We’re a Water Corporation Waterwise Garden Irrigator and an Irrigation Australia member, every job is backed by our workmanship warranty, and we’re rated 4.7 from 230 Google reviews.

What does Treeby’s soil and water mean for your retic?

Soil — Bassendean sands. The grey sands here drain instantly and fight re-wetting in summer, so splitting one watering into two cycles inside the same window — with a wetter twice a year — is what works.

Groundwater & bores. Shallow sandy geology means bores in this area usually deliver reliable garden water; pairing one with well-tuned reticulation keeps large lawns affordable. The 2-day roster and winter ban apply to bore watering too.

Rainfall — about 808mm a year. Local average is ~808mm a year, about 79% of it in the May-September wet season (Jandakot Aero) — reprogram seasonally and switch sprinklers off for the mandatory June-August ban.

What kind of retic work do we do in Treeby?

What do we actually fix in Treeby? Looking at our completed jobs, it's mostly controller work, solenoid & valve repairs and sprinkler & pop-up repairs — and with 19 jobs here in the last 24 months alone, we're in the suburb all the time.

From our Treeby job book

A Treeby system that wouldn't turn off

A Treeby owner reported the reticulation would not turn off, even with the controller switched off at the box. That symptom rules a great deal out immediately.

If a station keeps running with no power to the controller, the controller is not what is holding it open — a solenoid valve (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) is failing mechanically, staying open on water pressure alone regardless of whether it is being energised. Our technician tested the system and found both the master solenoid and the station 2 solenoid were not shutting down properly, and replaced them.

Four faulty sprinklers, a blocked nozzle, two risers (the upright pipe a sprinkler sits on) and shrub heads were also replaced. Switching the controller off is a useful diagnostic in itself: what keeps running afterwards is mechanical, and what stops is electrical.

What we actually find in Treeby

We've completed 30 jobs in Treeby. For this pattern check we read the 6 with the fullest, most recent technician notes — a capped sample, deliberately small and not random. 4 involved failed solenoids and valve coils (23% across the 1,781 Perth jobs sampled the same way) and 3 involved broken pop-ups and blocked nozzles (29%). Counts overlap, because one job can carry both. It is not Treeby's fault rate, and we don't publish it as one.

What Treeby customers say

I'm very happy with the results. I had a bad sprinkler leak where the main pipe connected to my solenoid valve, but Perth Reticulation Experts were able to come out and fix it with ease. Since mine wasn't an urgent job (as I could prevent the leak by keeping my sprinklers turned off), there was a bit of delay in being able to send somebody out, approximately 2.5 weeks. But when the guys did come out to repair it, they were very friendly, knowledgeable, and worked really quickly. They even serviced my other sprinklers in my garden to improve their performance, replacing a few broken heads and improving the range of others. When I had questions about smart sprinkler controllers, they were more than happy to give me advice and expert opinions. And to top it all off, when the invoice arrived, it was very reasonable for the work which was done. I'll definitely be using Perth Reticulation Experts again if I have further sprinkler issues in the future.

Reticulation Treeby FAQs

Yes, though the City would rather you didn't irrigate at all. Treeby is in the City of Cockburn. The City recommends non-irrigated Waterwise verges.

Verge rules by council

Generally yes — Treeby sits over accessible groundwater, which is why garden bores are common here. That said, two neighbouring blocks can differ on yield and iron content, so it's an assessment rather than a given. Bores, pumps and bore-fed retic are all work we do.

Garden bores in Perth

Treeby sits on Bassendean sands. That is Perth's least water-retentive sand, and the one most likely to repel water once dry. The most common thing we get booked for in Treeby is controller work, so that's where the technician starts. The schedule is built around about 10mm on each rostered day — split into two cycles inside the same watering window when the ground won't take it in one.

Perth soil types & watering

The same two-day Water Corporation roster as the rest of Perth — Treeby is no exception, and bores are on it too. Because the roster keys off your street number, two houses on the same street can be on different days — worth checking rather than copying a neighbour.

Repairs aren't quoted — every system and fault is different, so you book a repair rather than a quote. The technician diagnoses and fixes on site, most faults in the same visit. If a larger job needs parts ordered, we'll tell you the cost before we proceed.
