The heads were struggling to pop up, which is a pressure symptom rather than a head fault: a pop-up needs enough pressure to lift the stem and hold the seal, and when it does not get there the head sits half-risen and dribbles. The master solenoid (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) was replaced, along with a station solenoid and two nozzles, and the controller programmed correctly.
Sprinklers that will not rise properly are worth investigating rather than simply replacing. Fitting new heads to a system with a pressure problem produces new heads that also will not rise, and the actual fault — a valve not opening fully, a partly blocked line, or a leak upstream — stays exactly where it was.
