Pre-laying a Woodbridge system before the driveway went in
A Woodbridge installation was done as a pre-lay — the reticulation went in before the concrete driveway was poured and the paving laid around the house. That sequence is the whole point.
A 90mm stormwater pipe was installed under the driveway to act as a sleeve before the pour, so irrigation pipe can be run through, replaced or added to later without cutting concrete. Retrofitting under a finished driveway costs many times what a sleeve costs at this stage.
The supply side is a plumber's cut-in at the water meter with an isolation tap and a non-return valve, the latter preventing irrigation water being drawn back towards the mains. Core wire runs from the controller out to the solenoids (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station), and the valves sit in the lawn in spotter boxes set flush with the surface, so they can be mowed over and still found.
