Re-zoning a Hazelmere system around a new garden bed
A Hazelmere site had a new garden bed coming on with the lawn station, which is the wrong grouping — lawn and garden beds want different amounts of water at different frequencies, and sharing a station forces a single compromise on both. Our technician rewired the front solenoids so the new bed now runs with the other garden beds instead.
Station solenoid valves (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) were installed with valve boxes along with a mainline isolation valve, using 13-core solenoid wire already run in the area during an earlier stage of works. Drip line was removed from around the new wastewater treatment system and reused in a garden bed rather than discarded.
Grouping by water requirement rather than by proximity is the single most useful thing to get right when a system is extended.
