Mapping a West Perth commercial system
A West Perth commercial site needed working out before it could be repaired. The controller was found in the underground car park.
Reading the wiring colours at its terminals suggested the system was set up as a master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) plus a single station — but the valve found at the water meter, on a separate cut-in, was by wire colour actually the station valve, not the master. On commercial sites modified over decades, the labels and the reality part company.
Pressure was low across both stations because of a series of breaks and blockages, and several heads needed replacement for age and vandalism damage. The internal entrance gardens have reticulation installed that does not function at all, with no visible valves and no battery-operated nodes, so the control for that section still has to be found before it can be revived.
