A Two Rocks property had station 2, the back lawn, not distributing water properly. Our technician walked the whole lawn area looking for signs of a leak and found none on the surface — which does not rule one out, but it does mean the cause is not where it would usually be visible. Rather than leave the station running and wasting water into an area it is not reaching, the run time for station 2 was removed from the schedule until the cause can be found. That is a deliberate holding position, not an oversight. Programs B and C were also cleared from the controller, leaving a single program — extra programs are one of the most common reasons a system waters more often than its owner realises.
Verge planting and reticulation rules sit with the City of Wanneroo, while watering days come from the Water Corporation sprinkler roster, not the council — worth checking both before any verge retic work. Coastal dune sand: fast drainage and your sprinklers
Soil — Quindalup coastal sands. These coastal dunes shed water straight past the root zone, so one long soak is wasted. A tuned controller splitting the run into two short cycles inside the same watering window (both before 9am, or both after 6pm) suits this sand.
Groundwater & bores. Domestic bores perform well across this sand-plain suburb, and an older bore is often worth servicing rather than abandoning. Bore watering follows the standard 2-day roster and the June-August sprinkler switch-off.
Rainfall — about 672mm a year. Around 672mm falls annually (Pearce Raaf data), close to 77% of it May-September; gardens rely almost entirely on reticulation from November to March, when scheduling accuracy matters most.
