Rehousing an Alkimos manifold at surface level
An Alkimos system had the station 2 valve fail at the coil, and the valve was replaced in its entirety rather than piecemeal. While the manifold was open, our technician did the work that pays off later: every wire connection was taped and gel clipped, including connections not directly involved in the fault, and the manifold rehoused with its lid set at surface level.
A lid at surface level is the difference between a five-minute check and an excavation next time. Sprinklers that had been grown over were cleared — heads swallowed by planting cannot throw properly no matter what pressure reaches them — and the controller programmed for a 5:00am start on the property's watering days.
