Sand over limestone: what it means for your retic
Soil — Spearwood sands. Sand over limestone drains rapidly and can turn water-repellent in summer — a wetting agent, plus splitting the run into two shorter cycles inside the same watering window (both before 9am, or both after 6pm), is the standard fix in this belt.
Groundwater & bores. Good bore country: the superficial aquifer is within practical drilling reach under these sands. Watering from a bore costs pumping power rather than scheme rates — with the same 2-day roster and winter ban as everyone else.
Rainfall — about 672mm a year. Around 672mm falls annually (Pearce Raaf data), close to 77% of it May-September; gardens rely almost entirely on reticulation from November to March, when scheduling accuracy matters most.

Repeated breaks along an Eglinton driveway
An Eglinton property had a broken pop-up at the corner of the driveway, then two more along it, plus a leak nearer the letterbox found when the system was run afterwards. Our technician's assessment was blunt and worth passing on: the pattern points to how the system was installed rather than to anything that has gone wrong since.
Heads set too high along a driveway edge, and pipework laid without regard to where vehicles track, will keep breaking however many times they are replaced. The broken pop-up at the corner was repaired and lowered so it sits below the level things pass over.
Where the same section of a system fails repeatedly, replacing the parts is treating the symptom — the useful conversation is about moving the run or changing the head height.

Local reticulation questions
Yes, but get the City's approval first. Eglinton is in the City of Wanneroo. Irrigation pipes and connections shall be laid beneath the nature strip between 150mm and 300mm deep.
