A diaphragm is what seals a solenoid valve (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) shut, and when it splits the valve bleeds — passing water continuously instead of holding, which drops pressure across everything else running.
Our technician replaced the station 1 and 2 solenoids and the master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off), and fitted precision nozzles to the inside lawn to get more even distribution from the pressure available. One thing could not be confirmed: a water filter had been installed previously, but there was no way to determine where the master valve had been connected, despite assurances that it had been.
