Your local Peppermint Grove reticulation team

Whether it's an older system that's started playing up or a new landscape that needs waterwise coverage from day one, we handle the lot — repairs, servicing, controllers, bores and full installations.

Verge planting and reticulation rules sit with the Shire of Peppermint Grove, while watering days come from the Water Corporation sprinkler roster, not the council — worth checking both before any verge retic work. We're about 14 km from our Jandakot base, well inside the daily service runs.

We’re a Water Corporation Waterwise Garden Irrigator and an Irrigation Australia member, every job is backed by our workmanship warranty, and we’re rated 4.7 from 230 Google reviews.

What does Peppermint Grove’s soil and water mean for your retic?

Soil — Spearwood sands. Spearwood-belt sand sheds water quickly past roots; wetting agents and short repeat cycles keep gardens even. Limestone near the surface calls for experience when digging in new lines.

Groundwater & bores. Shallow sandy geology means bores in this area usually deliver reliable garden water; pairing one with well-tuned reticulation keeps large lawns affordable. The 2-day roster and winter ban apply to bore watering too.

Rainfall — about 727mm a year. Annual rain near 727mm and strongly seasonal (~78% May-Sep at Swanbourne); the practical schedule is full summer duty, tapering shoulder seasons, sprinklers off 1 June - 31 August.

What kind of retic work do we do in Peppermint Grove?

What do we actually fix in Peppermint Grove? Looking at our completed jobs, it's mostly servicing & tune-ups, controller work and solenoid & valve repairs — and with 5 jobs here in the last 24 months alone, we're in the suburb all the time.

From our Peppermint Grove job book

A bypass that kept two Peppermint Grove sprinklers running

A large Peppermint Grove system had two gear drive sprinklers that came on constantly, regardless of the controller. The cause was a slip fix bypassing station 7 — a repair coupling used to join around the valve rather than through it, so those two heads were fed directly from the pressurised mainline and could never be switched off.

Our technician capped the bypass, and station 7 now properly controls the two sprinklers that had been running past it. Several station valves were replaced across the property, including stations 4 through 8 and the station 3 solenoid (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station).

The master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) serving the gardens was cleaned out — debris had lodged in the diaphragm, which stops a valve seating and is often mistaken for outright valve failure. Cleaning rather than replacing was the right call there.

What we actually find in Peppermint Grove

We've completed 15 jobs in Peppermint Grove. For this pattern check we read the 6 with the fullest, most recent technician notes — a capped sample, deliberately small and not random. 3 involved low pressure and poor flow (11% across the 1,781 Perth jobs sampled the same way) and 5 involved mainline leaks and split poly (33%). Counts overlap, because one job can carry both. It is not Peppermint Grove's fault rate, and we don't publish it as one.

Reticulation Peppermint Grove FAQs

Verge rules are set by your council, and Peppermint Grove is in the Shire of Peppermint Grove. It doesn't publish a resident-facing verge irrigation spec we've been able to read, so check with the Shire of Peppermint Grove before verge work rather than assuming — the councils either side of it differ sharply.

Verge rules by council

Generally yes — Peppermint Grove sits over accessible groundwater, which is why garden bores are common here. Iron staining and yield are the two things worth establishing before you drill, and both are local to your block. We handle bores, pumps and the reticulation they feed.

Garden bores in Perth

Peppermint Grove sits on Spearwood sands. Water moves through it fast, and the sand can turn water-repellent once it dries out. The most common thing we get booked for in Peppermint Grove is servicing & tune-ups, so that's where the technician starts. We aim for around 10mm on each of your two watering days, and decide on site whether that wants one run or two cycles inside the same window.

Repairs aren't quoted — you book a repair and the technician diagnoses and fixes on site, most faults in the same visit, with the parts already on the van.
