Right-sizing the nozzles on a Nedlands system
A Nedlands owner reported a leaking micro riser (the upright pipe a sprinkler sits on) and blocked micro sprays. Our technician replaced the riser and the affected micro sprays, and capped off two pop-ups that were no longer needed — a small thing that matters, because a head watering an area that no longer needs it draws pressure away from the rest of the station.
The more useful work was the nozzles. They were swapped so the MP Rotators could run efficiently, which meant downsizing in several areas where the throw was longer than the space required.
We also suggested moving the start time earlier and reordering the zones in the controller so the lawns water first, which the owner was happy to adopt. Watering earlier loses less to evaporation and wind, and ordering the zones puts the thirstiest areas in the coolest part of the cycle.
