A North Beach valve buried under paving
A North Beach site had zone 4 running constantly — a valve stuck open, which on a continuously fed system means water going out around the clock. Finding it was the work.
Our technician traced the pipework back from the zone, through hard digging, and located the valve underneath paving. Valves end up under paving surprisingly often: paths and driveways get laid over an existing system years after it was installed, and the valve stays where it is, working, until the day it needs attention.
The assessment also found the butterfly and isolation valves leaking and a leak beneath the paved footpath, which were plumbing matters handled separately, and our technician repaired PVC leaks nearby.
