Sand over limestone: what it means for your retic
Soil — Spearwood sands. Spearwood-belt sand sheds water quickly past roots; wetting agents and short repeat cycles keep gardens even. Limestone near the surface calls for experience when digging in new lines.
Groundwater & bores. Groundwater under this part of the coastal plain is generally accessible, so a garden bore (new or revived) is a practical way to water without paying scheme rates. Water Corporation's roster and winter sprinkler ban still apply to bores.
Rainfall — about 672mm a year. The Pearce Raaf gauge averages ~672mm a year, ~77% of it May through September — dial summer cycles for zero rainfall help and let the winter switch-off do its job.

Local reticulation questions
Yes, but get the City's approval first. Merriwa is in the City of Wanneroo. Irrigation pipes and connections shall be laid beneath the nature strip between 150mm and 300mm deep.
