A four-metre mainline repair in Lockridge
A Lockridge system needed a four-metre section of 40mm mainline replaced — a substantial repair, and one that could only start once the valves had been found. Our technician located the front and rear station valves using electronic location and potholing (digging small test holes to find it), repaired the wiring, then replaced the failed mainline section and reinstated the excavation before testing the system. Not everything was resolved in the visit, and we would rather say so: station 3 was still staying on, and stations 4 and 6 were not coming on, with roughly 20 cubic metres of rubbish stored at the rear of the property physically preventing access to where those valves sit. Site access is a real constraint on retic work — valves under stored material cannot be located electronically with any accuracy, let alone excavated.
