"Four days after moving over from Victoria contractors came and dug up and destroyed our reticulation system in our front yard putting in street drainage. I was completely horrified as I knew nothing about retic. Matt and George from Perth Reticulation Experts attended to repair our destroyed system. I cannot thank and recommend them highly enough. They fixed the whole system and now it is running like new. Their knowledge is second to none. They were very punctual and their perfect work ethic made the whole process perfect. thankyou so very very much."

Verge planting and reticulation rules sit with the City of Swan, while watering days come from the Water Corporation sprinkler roster, not the council — worth checking both before any verge retic work. We're about 27 km from our Jandakot base, well inside the daily service runs.

What does Caversham’s soil and water mean for your retic?
Soil — Bassendean sands. Grey Bassendean sand is Perth's most water-repellent soil — water beads and runs off dry patches. Wetting agents plus short, frequent cycles are close to mandatory for an even lawn.
Groundwater & bores. This is favourable ground for garden bores — sand all the way to the water table in most streets. Bore-fed retic avoids scheme water charges, though the same 2-day roster and winter switch-off govern when it can run.
Rainfall — about 755mm a year. Averages about 755mm a year at the Perth Airport M.O. gauge with roughly 79% falling May-September — so the controller should step down through autumn and observe the 1 June - 31 August sprinkler switch-off.

What kind of retic work do we do in Caversham?
Between 96+ commercial maintenance visits and our residential call-outs, Caversham is one of our busiest suburbs. On the tools, that mostly means controller work, servicing & tune-ups and sprinkler & pop-up repairs.
From our Caversham job book
A Caversham controller that reset itself
A Caversham site had a controller that had reset to factory settings. That is a specific and under-appreciated failure: the controller is not broken, it powers up, the display works — but the watering schedule it is running is the manufacturer's default rather than the one set for the garden.
Depending on the model that can mean watering every day, watering at the wrong time, or not watering at all, and nothing about the unit looks wrong. Our technician reprogrammed the controller to the correct schedule and tested every station to confirm they ran.
Five sprinklers were adjusted and cleared along with their filters and nozzles, and three pop-up nozzles replaced. It is worth checking the programme on a controller after any power interruption, rather than assuming a schedule set months ago is still the one being run.

"Justin was professional and very helpful - he also had the correct parts on board in order to complete the job properly and efficiently. I have sometimes found that other providers use whatever leftovers they happen to have with them. I can recommend this company for an excellent level of work proficiency. I haven’t had the bill yet so can’t at this time comment on whether I was content with the financial outlay 🙂 B Evans"
