A Helena Valley bore pump that wasn't the problem
A Helena Valley site had a bore pump tripping, and the pump was pulled and tested. It was fine.
The fault was the controller, which was tripping the pump rather than the pump failing on its own. That is an expensive distinction: a bore pump is one of the most costly components on an irrigation system, and replacing a working one because the symptom appeared at the pump is a genuine risk when the diagnosis stops at the obvious place.
The controller needs replacement, and a power outlet is already installed for it. Station 18 was also found stuck open.
Testing the pump before condemning it is the right order of work on any bore-fed system — the pump is the last thing to replace, not the first, and a control fault upstream will imitate a pump fault almost exactly.
