Letting the flow test choose the nozzles in Greenmount
A Greenmount installation left one decision deliberately open until the last moment: the nozzle type would be either MP rotating nozzles or precision nozzles, decided by a final flow test taken at the solenoid valve (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station). That is the correct order of work, and it is often done backwards.
Nozzle choice determines how much flow each head demands, so the number of heads a station can carry depends entirely on what the supply actually delivers — and that is a measurement, not an assumption. Specifying nozzles before testing flow is how stations end up with more heads than the pressure can support.
The area was to be split into two stations with 20mm PVC, and the weed matting lifted and replaced after the mainline and garden feeds went in, so the finished surface is not left cut about.
