Clay-loam soil: slow to soak, prone to runoff
Soil — Pinjarra Plain clay-loams. Moisture-retentive alluvium means less frequent watering than Perth's sands — but it needs staged cycles so water actually infiltrates instead of sheeting off.
Groundwater & bores. Some properties in this area run productive bores, others hit clay or poor yield; local advice and a site check are essential. If scheme water is the source, tight scheduling matters all the more.
Rainfall — about 775mm a year. The Gosnells City gauge averages ~775mm a year, ~79% of it May through September — dial summer cycles for zero rainfall help and let the winter switch-off do its job.

Building damage resistance into a Wilson garden
A Wilson job was as much about preventing the next fault as fixing the current one. A micro spray that kept getting damaged was moved behind the fence line, out of the way of whatever had been knocking it.
A new pop-up was installed at the corner of a garden bed at the owner's request, mounted on flexible tube rather than a rigid riser (the upright pipe a sprinkler sits on) — so if it is knocked by foot traffic the tube flexes instead of the fitting snapping. We explained that choice to the owner rather than simply making it.
A new micro tube and spray stake were installed to one pot, and nozzles replaced across the rest of the system after checking each area. Position and mounting decide how often a head gets broken, and both are worth thinking about at the moment of repair, when changing them costs nothing extra.

Local reticulation questions
Yes, subject to conditions. Wilson is in the City of Canning. To minimise unnecessary water use, property owners and occupiers are encouraged not to install or operate automatic irrigation systems. The sprinkler roster is a Water Corporation matter, so it doesn't change at the council boundary.
It depends on your exact spot — groundwater access around Wilson varies, sometimes street to street. We can assess your block's suitability, and if a bore doesn't stack up, a well-zoned scheme-water system with matched nozzles is the next best water saver.
Wilson sits on Pinjarra Plain clay-loams. That soil holds water well but takes it in slowly, so sprinklers can easily apply it faster than the ground absorbs. The most common thing we get booked for in Wilson is controller work, so that's where the technician starts.
