Repairs aren't quoted — you book a repair and our technician diagnoses and fixes on site, with the parts already on the van. New systems are quoted after a paid site assessment, credited in full to your install if you accept the quote within 30 days.
Verge planting and reticulation rules sit with the Town of Victoria Park and the City of Canning, while watering days come from the Water Corporation sprinkler roster, not the council — worth checking both before any verge retic work. We're about 12 km from our Jandakot base, well inside the daily service runs.
We’re a Water Corporation Waterwise Garden Irrigator and an Irrigation Australia member, every job is backed by our workmanship warranty, and we’re rated 4.7 from 230 Google reviews.

What does Saint James’s soil and water mean for your retic?
Soil — Bassendean sands. Bassendean sands hold the least moisture of any Perth soil; gardens rely almost entirely on well-tuned reticulation, making head spacing and run times critical.
Groundwater & bores. Sandy soils over shallow groundwater make this classic garden-bore territory; running retic from a bore takes garden watering off the scheme-water bill. Bores follow the same 2-day roster and winter switch-off as scheme users.
Rainfall — about 775mm a year. Averages about 775mm a year at the Gosnells City gauge with roughly 79% falling May-September — so the controller should step down through autumn and observe the 1 June - 31 August sprinkler switch-off.

What kind of retic work do we do in Saint James?
Between 99+ commercial maintenance visits and our residential call-outs, Saint James is one of our busiest suburbs. On the tools, that mostly means controller work, servicing & tune-ups and solenoid & valve repairs.
From our Saint James job book
Replacing the whole valve set in Saint James
A Saint James system was not running, with the suspicion that it needed a new controller or had wiring problems. The solenoids (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) were conveniently located next to the controller, which made testing straightforward.
Our technician replaced the master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) solenoid, and noted that flow through the master valve was a concern when flushing the system — restricted flow at the master valve limits every station downstream of it, whatever those stations are fitted with. At the client's request all the solenoids were then swapped rather than replaced one at a time.
On a system where the valves are the same age and have had the same water through them, that is often the sensible call: the second and third failures are usually already on their way, and the labour of getting to the valves is being paid for either way.

"Summer is a busy time and they were the only company that eventually emailed to arrange a visit; other 3 companies never responded. On the day, the technicians arrived on time and went straight to diagnosing the issue with my retic. They had the issue fixed in no time. The technicians were friendly, professional and left everything as it was. Definitely will highly recommend their services."
"My retics is an old system installed unconventionally. It took Chris a lot of effort to locate the failed solinoid (which was burried underground!) and fix it. Chris is very friendly and professional. The charging system of the company is fair and reasonable. I will certainly seek help from this company in future. Tony, South Perth."
"Our lawn was looking very sad due to bad and broken retic. Lots of broken sprinklers replaced and some troubleshooting and our lawn looks amazing. Thanks John and Perth Retic!"
