Sand over limestone: what it means for your retic
Soil — Spearwood sands. Yellow Spearwood sand over limestone drains freely, so splitting your watering-day run into two shorter cycles, with a wetting agent, beats one long soak. The shallow limestone also makes trenching for repairs harder than it looks.

Finding buried valves in Tuart Hill
A Tuart Hill system was losing pressure across every station, and the cause was a stuck valve — but finding it was most of the job. With no record of where the valves sat, our technician potholed along the mainline to locate the master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) and the stuck station valve, working around extensive tree root systems that made digging slow.
Three valves were located and excavated in the process, and the stuck valve was replaced. A valve that will not close bleeds pressure continuously, which is why the whole system underperforms rather than one station failing outright.
With the valve changed, every station was tested, four blocked nozzles were replaced, the controller was programmed and all sprinklers adjusted to keep spray off the road. Systems where valve positions were never recorded cost more in locating than in parts.
A voltage drop on two Tuart Hill stations
