Your local Mount Hawthorn reticulation team
One call covers everything watering-related: mains reticulation, controllers, solenoids, wiring faults, and bore pumps if your property runs on groundwater.
Verge planting and reticulation rules sit with the City of Vincent, while watering days come from the Water Corporation sprinkler roster, not the council — worth checking both before any verge retic work. Mount Hawthorn is roughly 20 km from our Jandakot depot — same-week bookings are the norm, not the exception.
We’re a Water Corporation Waterwise Garden Irrigator and an Irrigation Australia member, every job is backed by our workmanship warranty, and we’re rated 4.7 from 230 Google reviews.

What does Mount Hawthorn’s soil and water mean for your retic?
Soil — Spearwood sands. Yellow Spearwood sand over limestone drains freely, so splitting your watering-day run into two shorter cycles, with a wetting agent, beats one long soak. The shallow limestone also makes trenching for repairs harder than it looks.
Groundwater & bores. The superficial aquifer here typically supports domestic garden bores — a big running-cost saving over scheme water for lawns. Note bore users now share the standard 2-days-per-week roster and the 1 June - 31 August switch-off.
Rainfall — about 718mm a year. Averages about 718mm a year at the Perth Metro gauge with roughly 79% falling May-September — so the controller should step down through autumn and observe the 1 June - 31 August sprinkler switch-off.

What kind of retic work do we do in Mount Hawthorn?
Between 223+ commercial maintenance visits and our residential call-outs, Mount Hawthorn is one of our busiest suburbs. On the tools, that mostly means controller work, servicing & tune-ups and sprinkler & pop-up repairs.
From our Mount Hawthorn job book
A Mount Hawthorn system with no master valve
A Mount Hawthorn system came in with a coil fault on station 4 and a stuck valve at the front, but testing turned up something more structural: there was no master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) on the system at all. The front manifold ran straight off the isolation and non-return valve, and the valves themselves were 20 to 25 years old.
Without a master valve the mainline stays pressurised whenever the supply is on, so any failure downstream leaks continuously rather than only while a station runs. We explained the position and, with the owner's go-ahead, installed a master solenoid (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station), a new manifold and three new front station valves, housing the master and isolation valves in one box and the station valves in another.
Replacing 25-year-old valves one at a time as they fail costs more over a few seasons than replacing the manifold once.
What we actually find in Mount Hawthorn
We've completed 256 jobs in Mount Hawthorn. For this pattern check we read the 6 with the fullest, most recent technician notes — a capped sample, deliberately small and not random. 3 involved failed solenoids and valve coils (23% across the 1,781 Perth jobs sampled the same way) and 4 involved mainline leaks and split poly (33%). Counts overlap, because one job can carry both. It is not Mount Hawthorn's fault rate, and we don't publish it as one.

What Mount Hawthorn customers say
“I was extremely impressed with the workmanship and attention to detail. Mikel not only knows reticulation, he also knows plants and gardens and has a good understanding of what sort of watering regime is needed for different plants. The end results is excellent.”
