What does Mullaloo’s soil and water mean for your retic?
Soil — Quindalup coastal sands. Free-draining calcareous beach sand with very low water holding — irrigation here works best as two brief cycles on the same watering day plus regular wetting-agent treatment.

A high resistance reading on a Mullaloo station
A Mullaloo system was troubleshot from the controller using continuity testing, and station 2 returned a high reading. High resistance is the diagnosis worth understanding: the circuit is complete, so the station may even work intermittently, but something along the run — usually a corroded join or a partly damaged conductor — is resisting the current the coil needs.
It typically fails on hot days, or when the coil is already working hard. That station was rewired and the connections gel capped, with clips added to a poly join at the same time.
Station 1 had a straightforward mechanical valve failure and was replaced. The remaining stations were checked and their connections gel capped as well, which is worth doing across a system once one join has been found to have failed.
