Sand over limestone: what it means for your retic
Soil — Spearwood sands. This limestone-derived sand holds little water, favouring a watering-day run split into two shorter cycles. Alkaline soil and caprock are normal here — worth knowing before any retic excavation.
Groundwater & bores. The superficial aquifer here typically supports domestic garden bores — a big running-cost saving over scheme water for lawns. Note bore users now share the standard 2-days-per-week roster and the 1 June - 31 August switch-off.

Blocked nozzles across a Beldon lawn station
A Beldon job had multiple blocked nozzles on the one lawn station, which is a pattern rather than a coincidence. When several nozzles on the same station block together, the cause is usually debris in the line — sand drawn in through a break, scale, or material disturbed by earlier work — rather than each nozzle failing on its own.
Our technician replaced the blocked nozzles and fitted a new sprinkler, and repaired a section of 19mm poly in the garden bed, which is exactly the kind of break that lets debris into a system in the first place. The controller battery was replaced and the system set correctly.
Dealing with the pipe damage alongside the nozzles is what stops the same station blocking again a few cycles later.

Local reticulation questions
