Soil — Quindalup coastal sands. Water races through Quindalup dune sand, so one long soak runs straight past the roots — two short cycles on the same watering day, plus soil wetters, are the proven local approach.

Rebuilding a Kallaroo back garden after the dog
A Kallaroo back garden had been comprehensively damaged by a dog during its puppy years — pipework chewed through in multiple places, and the reticulation wiring chewed as well. Rather than patch each break, our technician removed the old poly, which was full of holes and breaks, and replaced it with new pipe, installing 15mm risers (the upright pipe a sprinkler sits on) and nozzles where the layout allowed.
That is the right call once damage is that widespread: a line with a dozen repairs in it is a line waiting to fail again. The front stations were brought back into service after a faulty valve was replaced.
One area could not be reconnected on the visit, because reaching it requires removing a fence panel to get access from the neighbouring side — which needs arranging rather than improvising.
