What does Mandogalup’s soil and water mean for your retic?
Soil — Spearwood sands. This limestone-derived sand holds little water, favouring a watering-day run split into two shorter cycles. Alkaline soil and caprock are normal here — worth knowing before any retic excavation.
Groundwater & bores. Domestic bores perform well across this sand-plain suburb, and an older bore is often worth servicing rather than abandoning. Bore watering follows the standard 2-day roster and the June-August sprinkler switch-off.
Rainfall — about 750mm a year. Expect ~750mm annually per the Medina Research Centre gauge, heavily winter-weighted (~77% May-Sep): summer is effectively rain-free, so summer run times carry the garden.

What a Mandogalup install assumed, stated up front
A Mandogalup installation is a useful example of scoping work honestly before it starts. The scope recorded what the job assumed rather than leaving it to be discovered: that sleeves would be supplied, installed and clearly marked by others so they could be located when the reticulation went in; that verge areas would have access for a mini excavator; and that the system would be installed but could not be tested, because there was no water supply to the site yet.
It also recorded what was not allowed for — locating sleeves that turn out not to be where the plans show them, hard digging, and in-ground obstructions. Dial Before You Dig information was obtained as part of the preparation.
