Your local Malaga reticulation team

Repairs aren't quoted — you book a repair and our technician diagnoses and fixes on site, with the parts already on the van. New systems are quoted after a paid site assessment, credited in full to your install if you accept the quote within 30 days.

Verge planting and reticulation rules sit with the City of Swan, while watering days come from the Water Corporation sprinkler roster, not the council — worth checking both before any verge retic work. Our depot in Jandakot puts Malaga about 27 km away, comfortably inside our everyday coverage.

We’re a Water Corporation Waterwise Garden Irrigator and an Irrigation Australia member, every job is backed by our workmanship warranty, and we’re rated 4.7 from 230 Google reviews.

What does Malaga’s soil and water mean for your retic?

Soil — Bassendean sands. Bassendean sands hold the least moisture of any Perth soil; gardens rely almost entirely on well-tuned reticulation, making head spacing and run times critical.

Groundwater & bores. Shallow sandy geology means bores in this area usually deliver reliable garden water; pairing one with well-tuned reticulation keeps large lawns affordable. The 2-day roster and winter ban apply to bore watering too.

Rainfall — about 718mm a year. Local average is ~718mm a year, about 79% of it in the May-September wet season (Perth Metro) — reprogram seasonally and switch sprinklers off for the mandatory June-August ban.

What kind of retic work do we do in Malaga?

Our completed Malaga jobs so far have covered solenoid & valve repairs, sprinkler & pop-up repairs and controller work — and every one adds to the local system knowledge our technicians bring to the next booking.

From our Malaga job book

Splitting a Malaga station around new infrastructure

A Malaga site had electrical infrastructure installed across part of the front garden, cutting the planted area in two. Our technician's recommendation was to split the front garden beds into two separate stations, one either side of the new equipment — and a spare wire was already available at the controller to make that possible without trenching.

Where a permanent structure divides an area, keeping it on a single station means running pipework around or under the obstruction and accepting a compromise on both halves. On the existing station 1, two pop-ups no longer serving anything were deleted and capped, a break in the line repaired and five nozzles replaced with MP rotators.

Removing redundant heads while adding rotator nozzles works in the same direction: both leave more pressure for the heads that remain.

What Malaga customers say

Justin arrived promptly and was efficient and thorough in diagnosing the problems with the retic and fixing a blockage. He was very kind and supportive in his approach to the problem of a suspected leak which turned out to be my poor programming of the controller rather than a hole in a pipe.

Reticulation Malaga FAQs

Yes, no council permission needed. Malaga is in the City of Swan. Dial 1100 for Dial before You Dig or go online prior to any works commencing on site.

Verge rules by council

Generally yes — Malaga sits over accessible groundwater, which is why garden bores are common here. That said, two neighbouring blocks can differ on yield and iron content, so it's an assessment rather than a given. Bores, pumps and bore-fed retic are all work we do.

Garden bores in Perth

Malaga sits on Bassendean sands. That is Perth's least water-retentive sand, and the one most likely to repel water once dry. The most common thing we get booked for in Malaga is solenoid & valve repairs, so that's where the technician starts. We set run times to deliver about 10mm on each of your two rostered days, and split the run into two cycles inside the same watering window where the soil needs it.

Perth soil types & watering

The same two-day Water Corporation roster as the rest of Perth — Malaga is no exception, and bores are on it too. Your number decides your days, which is why the previous owner's controller settings are often wrong for you. We correct them on any visit.

Repairs aren't quoted — every system and fault is different, so you book a repair rather than a quote. The technician diagnoses and fixes on site, most faults in the same visit. If a larger job needs parts ordered, we'll tell you the cost before we proceed.
