A workaround, honestly labelled, in Lynwood
A Lynwood system had stations 1 and 3 coming on together. Our technician tested every station, located both valves with a cable locator and confirmed there was nothing wrong with the wires at either end — nor with the controller.
The fault is that field wires were cut at some point and incorrectly joined, somewhere between the two, and despite considerable time spent the join could not be located. So the solution was a workaround rather than a repair: stations 1 and 3 were deliberately wired together so the system runs, effectively as one larger station with less coverage than the others.
That is worth labelling honestly, because it is a compromise. Damaged wiring along the back garden wall was rewired properly and a valve box placed over the joins so they are accessible next time.
