Water hammer and a failing valve in Thornlie
Station 6 at this Thornlie home was running two solenoid valves, and one of them was failing, which starved the station of pressure. In November 2025 our technician located it electronically and replaced it outright. Under the paving, a 19 mm poly line had split; it was repaired and the paving put back. Three fittings had blown apart at the barb, damage that may have come from earlier water hammer, the pressure shock when water flowing through a pipe is stopped suddenly.
The job wasn't finished in one visit. The last four or five sprinklers on station 6 still needed diagnosing for crushed or blocked pipe, and stations 7 to 10 were still to be tested. Both were scoped as the next stage.
