No sleeve where the Karnup plan said there was one
A Karnup installation had a mainline to get under a driveway, and the plan showed a sleeve. There was no sleeve — not where it was marked, and not anywhere else that could be found.
Rather than break up finished paving, the mainline was thrust-bored under the driveway from one side to the other, which leaves the surface intact. Under a paved driveway that wants to be done dry wherever possible — wet-boring flushes out the bedding sand the pavers are bedded on, and that is how a driveway subsides a season after the retic went in.
A sleeve marked on a plan but never actually installed is a common find, and it is why we check rather than assume. One item was reported rather than repaired: the brass vacuum-breaking check valve on the rear tap is leaking while a tap timer is connected to it, and needs replacing.
The master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) and mainline were installed.
