Your local Huntingdale reticulation team

One call covers everything watering-related: mains reticulation, controllers, solenoids, wiring faults, and bore pumps if your property runs on groundwater.

Verge planting and reticulation rules sit with the City of Gosnells, while watering days come from the Water Corporation sprinkler roster, not the council — worth checking both before any verge retic work. Huntingdale is roughly 10 km from our Jandakot depot — same-week bookings are the norm, not the exception.

We’re a Water Corporation Waterwise Garden Irrigator and an Irrigation Australia member, every job is backed by our workmanship warranty, and we’re rated 4.7 from 230 Google reviews.

What does Huntingdale’s soil and water mean for your retic?

Soil — Bassendean sands. Leached grey sand with almost no clay or nutrient holding; it turns non-wetting in summer, so soil wetters and a well-programmed controller earn their keep here.

Groundwater & bores. Shallow sandy geology means bores in this area usually deliver reliable garden water; pairing one with well-tuned reticulation keeps large lawns affordable. The 2-day roster and winter ban apply to bore watering too.

Rainfall — about 775mm a year. Expect ~775mm annually per the Gosnells City gauge, heavily winter-weighted (~79% May-Sep): summer is effectively rain-free, so summer run times carry the garden.

What kind of retic work do we do in Huntingdale?

The Huntingdale work in our job system tells its own story: the most common call-outs here are servicing & tune-ups, controller work and new system installs. 17 of our Huntingdale jobs landed in just the last two years, so the local knowledge is current — not folklore.

From our Huntingdale job book

An air lock on a Huntingdale system

A Huntingdale system had a station staying on, and the master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) was suspected. Our technician replaced the isolation valve and the master valve solenoid (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station), and getting it to seat correctly took some working at — the behaviour suggested an air lock in the line.

Air trapped in a mainline stops a valve operating cleanly, because the diaphragm relies on water pressure above it to close, and a pocket of air in the wrong place makes a perfectly good valve behave like a faulty one. Bleeding it out is the fix, and it is a real possibility worth checking before condemning a new valve.

The coil keeping the station energised was replaced, and the system now shuts off correctly across all eight stations. A few remaining garden items the owner elected to handle himself.

Reticulation Huntingdale FAQs

Yes, no approval needed. Huntingdale is in the City of Gosnells. Any reticulation, including water pipes and sprinklers are to be laid beneath the surface of the verge and must not protrude above the lawn or garden surface when not in use.

Verge rules by council

Generally yes — Huntingdale sits over accessible groundwater, which is why garden bores are common here. Depth, yield and iron content still vary block to block, so it's worth assessing rather than assuming. We install, service and repair bores and pumps.

Garden bores in Perth

Huntingdale sits on Bassendean sands. That is Perth's least water-retentive sand, and the one most likely to repel water once dry. The most common thing we get booked for in Huntingdale is servicing & tune-ups, so that's where the technician starts. We aim for around 10mm on each of your two watering days, and decide on site whether that wants one run or two cycles inside the same window.

The same two-day Water Corporation roster as the rest of Perth — Huntingdale is no exception, and bores are on it too. Because the roster keys off your street number, two houses on the same street can be on different days — worth checking rather than copying a neighbour.

Repairs aren't quoted — every system and fault is different, so you book a repair rather than a quote. The technician diagnoses and fixes on site, most faults in the same visit. If a larger job needs parts ordered, we'll tell you the cost before we proceed.
