"Wayne and Robert are very professional with knowing what they are doing. An example is my underground pump well was covered by grass which I can not identify the exact location. Wayne walk around my garden and pointed a spot said “it’s here. It’s about 2cm bowled in from the flat grass surface.” This is not u can learn from book, it’s professional hands on experience. Sand over limestone: what it means for your retic
Soil — Spearwood sands. Quick-draining yellow sand where moisture rarely lingers; frequent short cycles and periodic coverage checks keep growth even across the limestone country.
Groundwater & bores. This is favourable ground for garden bores — sand all the way to the water table in most streets. Bore-fed retic avoids scheme water charges, though the same 2-day roster and winter switch-off govern when it can run.
Rainfall — about 808mm a year. Roughly 808mm a year here (Jandakot Aero), with about 79% of it falling May-September — the long dry rest of the year is why controller programming and coverage checks pay for themselves.

Rebuilding a Booragoon manifold at a workable height
A Booragoon property had a leak between the isolation valve and the master solenoid (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) — the short run of pipework that carries mains pressure continuously, so a leak there runs every hour of every day rather than only during a watering cycle. Our technician repaired it and replaced the master solenoid.
The more substantial work was rebuilding the manifold to raise all the solenoids, which the owner had asked for. A manifold sitting too low ends up below soil level, filling with sand and requiring excavation for any future work; raising it puts every valve within reach of a hand rather than a shovel.
All four stations were tested afterwards. Where a manifold is being opened up anyway, raising it costs very little on the day and changes the cost of every visit after.
Mainline repair and missing heads in Booragoon
The mainline down the side of this Booragoon house was broken. In February 2026 our technician repaired it, then tested the system. In the back garden, station 2 got three replacement shrub heads, and station 3 had a broken riser fixed, plus four micro heads and a shrub head replaced where they had gone missing.
Two stations still needed more work. Station 1, on the front lawn, wasn't popping up, and its solenoid had yet to be tracked down so it could be repaired or replaced. Station 4's location was unknown, and it may need finding and fixing as well. A break in the mainline is usually the first thing to fix, because it robs pressure from every station fed through it.
