Sand over limestone: what it means for your retic
Soil — Spearwood sands. Free-draining yellow sand with limestone often close beneath — great drainage, poor moisture holding. Splitting one watering into two cycles inside the same window suits it, and retic trenching can hit caprock.
Groundwater & bores. This is favourable ground for garden bores — sand all the way to the water table in most streets. Bore-fed retic avoids scheme water charges, though the same 2-day roster and winter switch-off govern when it can run.

A Murdoch controller replacement done properly
A Murdoch property had its four-station controller replaced with a plug-in unit, positioned next to the switchboard. What is worth drawing out is the scope: the job explicitly included additional time on site for programming and testing, rather than treating those as something to be squeezed in at the end.
Fitting a controller takes a few minutes. Programming it to the property's watering days and the run times its nozzles actually need, then running every station to confirm each valve responds, takes longer — and is the part that determines whether the garden gets watered.
