Clay-loam soil: slow to soak, prone to runoff

A Forrestfield sprinkler flooding next door
A Forrestfield job started with water pooling on the neighbouring property. The cause was a sprinkler on the fence line, station 2, with a burst seal — a failed seal lets water escape continuously at the head rather than being delivered through the nozzle, so it floods locally instead of watering the area.
The head was replaced, along with a blocked nozzle on the same station. Our technician then programmed the controller with the correct run times and run days, set to start at 5:00am.
Early starts are not only about evaporation: watering before the day warms up means less loss to wind and heat, and it keeps the sprinklers running when nobody is walking through them. A leak at a boundary is worth attending to promptly for reasons beyond the water — the neighbour notices first.
