Trading micro sprays for rigid risers in Lesmurdie
A Lesmurdie owner was tired of unblocking micro lines and sprays constantly, and asked for a rigid riser (the upright pipe a sprinkler sits on) setup instead — heads he could see working from a distance rather than emitters he had to inspect one by one. It is a reasonable trade.
Micro sprays and drip apply water precisely and efficiently, but on a large property with sediment in the supply the maintenance burden is real, and it falls on the owner between service visits. Visible spray from a riser is self-diagnosing: you can see at a glance whether it is running.
Our technician ran each station to map where rigid risers could go. Sun-damaged black tubing was noted for replacement, station 9 was not working, and access to the master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) was flagged as a plumbing job, since it is set into copper with no room to remove it.
