"I'm very happy with the results. I had a bad sprinkler leak where the main pipe connected to my solenoid valve, but Perth Reticulation Experts were able to come out and fix it with ease. Since mine wasn't an urgent job (as I could prevent the leak by keeping my sprinklers turned off), there was a bit of delay in being able to send somebody out, approximately 2.5 weeks. But when the guys did come out to repair it, they were very friendly, knowledgeable, and worked really quickly. They even serviced my other sprinklers in my garden to improve their performance, replacing a few broken heads and improving the range of others. When I had questions about smart sprinkler controllers, they were more than happy to give me advice and expert opinions. And to top it all off, when the invoice arrived, it was very reasonable for the work which was done. I'll definitely be using Perth Reticulation Experts again if I have further sprinkler issues in the future."

Sand over limestone: what it means for your retic
Soil — Spearwood sands. Quick-draining yellow sand where moisture rarely lingers; frequent short cycles and periodic coverage checks keep growth even across the limestone country.
Groundwater & bores. Groundwater under this part of the coastal plain is generally accessible, so a garden bore (new or revived) is a practical way to water without paying scheme rates. Water Corporation's roster and winter sprinkler ban still apply to bores.
Rainfall — about 865mm a year. Roughly 865mm a year here (Halls Head), with about 80% of it falling May-September — the long dry rest of the year is why controller programming and coverage checks pay for themselves.

A Dudley Park system fed from next door
A Dudley Park job produced a genuinely unusual finding. Our technician tested the controller with a multimeter, then followed the mainline along the fence to establish where the water was coming from — and it arrives from the neighbouring property, near the fence and driveway.
That has a practical consequence: the system could not be fully tested, because the neighbours had isolated the water at their end and were not home. A rusted-out isolation valve was replaced along with a new master solenoid (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station).
Shared or cross-boundary supply arrangements are more common in older subdivisions than people expect, usually a legacy of how a block was originally developed. It is worth knowing about, because it means control of your reticulation partly sits on someone else's property, and every future repair depends on their availability.
