Worn valve bodies on a Currambine system
A Currambine system had a station staying on when it should not, reported as station 1. Tracing the wiring showed it was actually station 2 at fault — worth confirming before replacing anything, since the station number people report is often the one they can see running rather than the one that is stuck.
The station 2 solenoid (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) had a worn valve body and was replaced, after which it held closed correctly while other stations ran. A second problem then showed itself: water was flowing, but pressure was low across the system.
That traced to the master solenoid, which was not opening fully, again because of a worn valve body. Changing it restored full pressure.
Both faults share a cause — a valve body wears internally with age, and a valve that no longer seats or opens cleanly degrades the whole system rather than failing outright.
