A Joondalup mainline stuck in its sleeve
A Joondalup site had a leak in the poly under a pathway, which our technician located and replaced. Turning the system back on to test it revealed a second leak, this time in the mainline at a different location.
That one could not be finished on the day. The mainline runs through a sleeve under the path, and the sleeve had filled with sand, jamming the PVC pipe so it could not be withdrawn and replaced the usual way.
Rather than break up the path on the spot, our technician capped the mainline so the remaining stations could keep operating, and reported the work needed to replace the sleeved section properly. A sleeve under a path is meant to make future pipe replacement easy; once it silts up it does the opposite, and the repair becomes a planned job rather than a callout.
