A City Beach master valve under a retaining wall
A City Beach system had two valves stuck open. The station 1 valve was located and replaced, and while access was open our technician rehoused all three located valves in spotter boxes set flush with the surface — so they can be found and opened next time without digging.
The battery backup was replaced, the controller programming checked, and a rotator nozzle replaced. The master valve (the main valve that shuts the whole system off) was the problem that could not be solved on the day.
It was located approximately, but sits under a retaining wall section, beneath rock, some 800 to 900mm down. Reaching it means dismantling part of the wall, which is a decision with a cost attached and not one to make unilaterally on a service call.
It was reported with its location and depth recorded, so the work can be planned properly.
