"Tom was really efficient and knowledgeable. He knew exactly what to do at my place and had it done and tidied. Gave some advice on how to get the lawn back to being green and healthy. At my neighbour's place where I look after their garden it was a bit different as he was virtually working blind as I was not able to help with what stations came on etc. However it did not faze him and even though it took some time he finally was able to work out what happening and getting it sorted. Also checked the other sprinklers and adjusted to suit and changed timing of retic to suit. I called Perth Retic as last time Justin had come to my place to sort out retic and he provided excellent service as well so I had no hesitation in calling them this time. Rewiring a Herne Hill system from the controller out
A Herne Hill property had its control system rebuilt rather than repaired. A new sixteen-station controller went in, with new 13-strand multicore wiring running to every solenoid valve (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) — including three additional valves added in the garden areas.
All the existing solenoid valves and fittings were replaced and new valve boxes installed throughout, with the trenches backfilled and compacted afterwards. Two choices are worth pointing at.
Replacing all the wiring at once, rather than repairing breaks as they appear, ends the cycle of chasing faults through cable that is the same age throughout. And leaving one spare station on the controller means the next addition — another garden area, a tap or a ball valve — needs no new controller.
