Your local Ellenbrook reticulation team
Ellenbrook sits in Perth's grey-sand dry-patch belt: soil that turns water-repellent by mid-summer and punishes any sprinkler layout that was never quite right. A lot of our work here is making systems match the ground they're on — rotator nozzles, boundary placement, coverage that actually covers. 145 jobs in the last two years keep the local picture current. Repairs are booked straight in; new systems are designed and quoted after a paid site assessment that's credited to the install if you proceed.
Verge and streetscape watering rules sit with the City of Swan — worth checking before verge retic work, and we can advise on what your council allows. This grey sand belt is notorious for dry patch — hydrophobic by mid-summer. Frequent light watering, wetting agents and even sprinkler coverage are the local formula. Domestic bores perform well across this sand-plain suburb, and an older bore is often worth servicing rather than abandoning. Bore watering follows the standard 2-day roster and the June-August sprinkler switch-off. Roughly 672mm a year here (Pearce Raaf), with about 77% of it falling May-September — the long dry rest of the year is why controller programming and coverage checks pay for themselves. Ellenbrook is roughly 38 km from our Jandakot depot — same-week bookings are the norm, not the exception.
We’re Waterwise-endorsed and Irrigation Australia members, every job is backed by a full warranty, and we’re Perth’s most-reviewed retic specialist (rated 4.7 from 230 Google reviews).

What does Ellenbrook’s soil and water mean for your retic?
Soil — Bassendean sands. Bassendean sands hold the least moisture of any Perth soil; gardens rely almost entirely on well-tuned reticulation, making head spacing and run times critical.
Groundwater & bores. Good bore country: the superficial aquifer is within practical drilling reach under these sands. Watering from a bore costs pumping power rather than scheme rates — with the same 2-day roster and winter ban as everyone else.
Rainfall — about 672mm a year. Averages about 672mm a year at the Pearce Raaf gauge with roughly 77% falling May-September — so the controller should step down through autumn and observe the 1 June - 31 August sprinkler switch-off.

Customer stories from Ellenbrook
When the new valve wasn't the answer
Under a housing maintenance program, we attended an Ellenbrook lawn that wouldn't green up — poor flow, patchy coverage. Replacing the solenoid valve was the obvious first move, and it made no difference. So instead of throwing more parts at it, we redesigned: the three centre-lawn sprinklers were relocated out to the boundary and swapped to rotator heads that work with the flow actually available.
In the garden beds we stripped out the excess 19mm poly, added ten micro sprays and staked the risers so the coverage sat evenly over the plants. Controller programmed, system tested, and the whole setup demonstrated to the tenant before we left. Sometimes the fix isn't a new part — it's a better layout.

The two valves nobody had seen in years
A classic Ellenbrook service call: broken sprinkler heads, a timer that might or might not be working, and a system that hadn't been properly gone through in a long while. We checked and reprogrammed the controller, ran every known station and fixed the blocked and broken sprinklers as we went. A new master solenoid went in and was reconnected to the isolation tap.
Two stations still weren't behaving, so out came the tracing gear: solenoids 2 and 5 were located underground, both seized. One was replaced, the other flushed back into service — and a system that had been limping along for years ran properly again.

Stage one now, stage two when you're ready
An established front lawn needed proper retic, and the budget said front yard first. So that's exactly how we built it: the old valves came off the 25mm mainline, the front lawn was split across two new stations — new solenoid valves, 20mm PVC, Toro pop-ups with MP rotating nozzles — and the front garden bed got its own station of 19mm poly with risers and rotating nozzles.
The mainline was connected through to the existing rear system so everything keeps running until stage two. Nothing wasted, nothing to rip out later: a system deliberately designed to grow with the property.
