What a seasonal turn-on involves in Waikiki
A Waikiki site was recommissioned — a seasonal turn-on rather than a repair callout — and the sequence is worth setting out, because it is more than flicking a switch. The controller is turned on and its settings adjusted for the season ahead.
The system is then flushed, which matters after a period of no use: sediment settles in the pipework while it stands, and the first water through will carry it into the nozzles unless it is cleared out first. Each station is then run and checked for faults, and whatever has failed over the dormant period gets repaired or replaced on the spot.
