Coastal dune sand: fast drainage and your sprinklers
Soil — Quindalup coastal sands. Highly permeable dune sand near the coast; salt-laden wind adds stress, so even sprinkler coverage and splitting the watering-day run matter more here than most suburbs.
Groundwater & bores. Sandy soils over shallow groundwater make this classic garden-bore territory; running retic from a bore takes garden watering off the scheme-water bill. Bores follow the same 2-day roster and winter switch-off as scheme users.
Rainfall — about 750mm a year. Expect ~750mm annually per the Medina Research Centre gauge, heavily winter-weighted (~77% May-Sep): summer is effectively rain-free, so summer run times carry the garden.

Two Rockingham valves stuck open at once
A Rockingham site had stations 2 and 3 both stuck open, running the verge and the internal garden beds continuously. The compounding effect is what makes this difficult to assess: with two stations open at the same time the available pressure is split across all of them, and there was not enough left in the garden beds to tell which emitters were working and which had failed.
In other words, the stuck valves had to be dealt with before the rest of the system could even be diagnosed. A leak was also found on the 20mm PVC on station 1.
This is a fair illustration of why faults get worked in order rather than all at once — some have to be cleared before the others become visible.

Local reticulation questions
Yes for lawn and garden; other materials need a written application. Rockingham is in the City of Rockingham. Acceptable materials are allowed to cover 50% of the verge or 10m2, whichever is the greater.
