What kind of retic work do we do in Mundaring?
A Mundaring installation ran a 32mm mainline from the rainwater tank along the lower terrace to the front of the property and under the driveway to the fruit trees, with 25mm solenoid valves (the electrically-operated valve that feeds one station) at the specified lawn and planting areas. The interesting part of the design is what was installed for work that has not happened yet: additional solenoid valves for future irrigation, positioned now but not wired or operational. Putting valves in while the ground is open is far cheaper than returning to excavate for them. The owner asked a good question about it — whether the wiring for those future valves would be run now or later — and that is exactly the right thing to settle in writing, because wire run at the same time as the pipe costs a fraction of wire run afterwards.
