Pop-up spray and shrub riser: how they work
A lawn and a garden bed need different heads. In the lawn, a pop-up spray sits flush with the grass and only rises when the water is on. In a garden bed, a shrub riser lifts the nozzle above the plants all the time.
Both are shown here with rotary nozzles, then taken apart. The numbers match the parts list underneath.

What you’re looking at
- Pop-up spray
- Sits on flexible EZ-Tube, so the tube can flex if the head is pushed down.
- Poly shrub riser
- Lifts the spray above the plants. Garden beds aren't driven on, so it can sit straight on the tee.
- Rotary nozzle
- Throws several rotating streams instead of a fine mist.
